"I've seen their commercials for years now. Decided to make the trip from South Tampa to upgrade my wedding band. I'm so here for all the elaborate decorating let me tell you. Including a FABULOUS pair of gold shoes worn by one of the fashionable gentleman associates. Anyway.

From the second I walked in, they rolled out the red carpet, and every customer thereafter they just provided stellar customer service. And well you might be thinking, yeah lady it's a jewelry store so they have to, to which i say not so fast. Customer service at most places, including another local jewellery store in the area, is quite lacking.

I worked with Mr. Patrick Kelly, who's a G&D veteran, i learned. PK was fab, listened to exactly what i wanted and within ten minutes I was set. They sized it for me that day, and boxed my new ring up so beautifully. The quality of their products is so easily visible and they provided me with a lifetime warranty, including free cleanings and such.

COVID: extra precautions all around, excellent job!

Thanks PK and the G&D team!! Y'all work your butts off! Cheers!" — Brienna A. on Yelp

  2. Ultimate Guide to Women’s Wedding Bands

Congratulations on your engagement! Now it's time to find your perfect wedding band! There are as many wedding band options as there are engagement rings— and even more when you consider the combination your wedding band will make alongside your engagement ring.

Most women choose to wear both an engagement ring and wedding band— known as a “bridal set."  Some couples opt for purchasing complete, coordinating bridal sets, while others choose to build their own sets with a wedding band of their choice.

Your wedding band can match and complement your engagement ring, or it can be a standout piece on its own. Gold & Diamond Source is proud to have the largest selection of gold and diamond wedding bands in the Tampa Bay Area.

    Eternity Wedding Bands

With no shortage of sparkle, eternity bands feature diamonds or another gemstone around the entire ring— unlike a 5-stone or 7-stone wedding band that features stone just at the top. This style Shop eternity wedding bands HERE.

    Chic Wedding Bands

A simple gold or platinum wedding band with or without diamonds provides a simple backdrop to allow your engagement ring to truly shine.

    Something Different Wedding Bands

If traditional wedding bands don't live up to what you envision, consider something out of the box. Try on a wedding band with unexpected details that will perfectly reflect your style.

    Contrasting Wedding Bands

If you love rose gold or gemstones but didn't include that in your engagement ring, a contrasting wedding band might be perfect for you. Consider a different metal or a gemstone that reflects your favorite color, birthstone, or anniversary stone.

  3. History Behind the Rose Gold Engagement Ring

Rose gold, sometimes called pink gold, is continuing to grow in popularity with couples shopping for their perfect engagement ring. And it’s not hard to understand why – rose gold is warm, luxurious, and romantic.

Rose gold is a mixture of yellow gold, copper and silver. The copper gives it a redded color than yellow gold naturally has. The silver helps to tone down the redness of the copper, achieving a subtle pink shade. No one knows exactly who came up with the idea of adding copper to gold, but it is believed that rose gold first became popular in Russia at the beginning of the 19th century. Rose gold is often referred to as “Russian gold” as it was so popular in Russia.

Even though rose gold has become incredibly popular in the past few years, it’s not actually new to the jewelry world. Rose gold was brought to the masses in the early 19th century by famed jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé, who incorporated rose gold in his renowned Fabergé Eggs. The jeweler was tasked with creating these ornate eggs to be Easter gifts for Russian tsars Alexander III and Nicholas II’s family.

Rose gold made a comeback in the 1920s when Cartier released the sought-after Trinityring, a simple design featuring intertwining bands of white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold. And while platinum and white gold were popular during the Art Deco period of the 1930s and 1940s, platinum became reserved for war efforts when World War II began in 1939, so rose gold took its place and grew in popularity.

For today's brides, rose gold is continuing to trend. Celebrities and style icons are enjoying the romantic hue of rose gold, with many choosing the metal for their engagement rings.

"We absolutely LOVE the Gold and Diamond Source! Debbie is by far the best in customer satisfaction and expertise. My husband bought my engagement ring and wedding band here about 6 years ago. We bring it every 6 months for service and cleaning....which of course has prompted us to buy other pieces of jewelry. They have the highest quality gold and diamonds with the best prices. And we have compared diligently and did our homework. They always honor their word with replacing and repairing anything that happens to any of our pieces because we are such loyal customers and bring our pieces in for service every 6 months minimum. I highly recommend you stop in and check out their selection Ask for Debbie... you will thank me, I promise!" — Robyn M. on Yelp

  4. Celebrate September with Sapphires

    Celebrate September with Sapphires

We never need a reason to celebrate the gorgeous sapphire birthstone, but we pull out all the stops every September 1st. Though popular all year long, sapphire is also the birthstone for those born in the month of September. Did you know it is also a traditional anniversary gift for four wedding anniversaries? Learn more about this beloved, royal blue stone below.

Popular since the Middle Ages, the sapphire is a classic favorite of royalty, clergy, celebrities and fine jewelry collectors. People have prized sapphires for their celestial blues and violets. Did you know you can actually find the beautiful September birthstone in any color, except red? Medium to medium-dark blue hues are the most coveted.
Some of the most famous blue sapphire engagement rings have been worn by Mary-Kate Olsen, Emma Slater, Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Hurley, Princess Diana, and Kate Middleton.

    Sapphire Folklore
Folklore tells that sapphires will protect loved ones from envy and harm and grant the wearer spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. In differing zodiacal systems, sapphire covers both Taurus and Gemini. The Ancient Greeks associated sapphire with Apollo. Violet sapphires represent the number three as well as old age. They are believed to offer healing properties for rheumatism, colic, and mental illness. Sapphires are also considered an antidepressant.

    Sapphires as Anniversary Gifts
For couples looking for a traditional anniversary gift, sapphires are given for the 5th, 23rd, 45th and 65th wedding anniversaries. Couples celebrating these milestone anniversaries might consider a sapphire anniversary band that can be worn with the bridal set.

    Sapphire Birthstone Jewelry
Sapphire jewelry is a meaningful gift for those who celebrate a September birthday— and anyone who loves this gorgeous gemstone!

  5. "Should I Sell My Jewelry On Facebook Marketplace?"

Whether you've outgrown the style, or you've outgrown the relationship, or you just want something new, you might be wondering whether it's a good idea to sell your unwanted jewelry on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, or a similar site.

Whatever the reason, there may come a time when you want to sell your jewelry. While it may be tempting to simply put your items on Facebook Marketplace and hope for the best, this is seldom the best approach, particularly if you’re looking for a good return on your initial investment. Besides not knowing how to price your jewelry, dealing with lowball offers, not knowing who you are meeting with, and other concerns, listing on Facebook Marketplace might not be in your best interest.

If you have decided to sell your unwanted jewelry and want to know the best way to do it, here’s a helpful guide.

"Should I Sell My Jewelry On Facebook Marketplace?"

    1)    Find a reputable reseller. If possible, avoid selling valuable jewelry on sites such as Facebook Marketplace or eBay. They’re competitive, occasionally unreliable, and it’s highly unlikely that you’ll make the money that your item is worth. Instead, do some investigation in your local area. Identify reputable jewelry stores that are happy to value and buy your jewelry.

    2)    Get a valuation. If you want to get a good price for your item, it’s a good idea to know how much it’s worth. However, be aware that prices fluctuate, and your jewelry may not be worth the same as when you purchased it. A good dealer will weigh your jewelry, then offer you a price then and there for your consideration.

    3)    Explore your options. Don’t be afraid to explore different jewelry buyers, and don't let price be the one and only factor influencing your decision either. It’s better to sell to a reputable dealer than one with a shady reputation!

    4)    Be realistic. It’s important to be realistic when selling your jewelry. You may have paid thousands for it when you bought it originally, but if it has become damaged or scratched, this will affect its value.

    5)    Know how you’ll be paid. Be aware that different jewelry buyers may pay in different ways. Some may offer cash on the spot, others may offer a bank transfer or check. If you’ve got any queries or concerns about payment, make sure you address them at the time, rather than leaving it until it’s too late.
